
Game Rules
LineupS

Each team’s lineup will consist of four hitters and one pitcher
-
Each hitter will have one at-bat per round
-
Bench players can sub in at any time before an at-bat begins
-
Player re-entry into the lineup is allowed at any time and a pitcher can switch with any hitter in the lineup at any time
-
A pitcher cannot pitch AND hit in the same round
-
If a lineup falls below four players during the game, hitter(s) will be required to hit twice, beginning back at the leadoff spot
Scoring

Games are 4 rounds of situational hitting: Pull Side, Up the Middle, Opposite Field and Around the Horn
-
For each round, points are scored by hitting the ball in accordance with that round’s requirements

Team with the most total points in a round wins the round
-
Rounds 1 through 3 are worth 1 run; Round 4 is worth 2 runs; No runs awarded for rounds that finish in a tie
-
Most runs at the end of the game wins
-
In a championship game, ties will be broken through a 1 v 1 sudden death, Around the Horn.

Hitting

Maximum of 8 swings or 35 seconds per at-bat (whichever comes first)

A full swing is counted no matter the result
-
Pitcher must be in motion before time is up for the swing to count

A ball put in play does NOT count as a point when it:
-
Is ruled a foul ball
-
Does not get beyond the infield
-
Is hit between the infield flags and below the tops of the flags, or contacts the infield flags
-
Does not satisfy the round-by-round directional requirements/format

Rounds
-
Round 1 – Pull Side: Ball must land in the section that is considered pull-side for the hitter

Round 2 – Up the Middle: Ball must land in the middle section of the field (hitting the L screen is ok)

Round 3 – Opposite Field: Ball must land in the section that is considered opposite field for the hitter

Round 4 – Around the Horn: Ball must land in the pull side, up the middle (hitting the L screen is ok), and opposite field sections in sequence and repeats once success is achieved in each section; hitter does not advance to the next direction until hit is successful in each region of the field (on-field official will let hitter know the direction)
